A talented but extremely troubled grunge performer, Kurt Cobain became a rock legend in the 1990s. He was best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and the main songwriter of the rock band Nirvana. Cobain formed Nirvana with Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington Krist was already an established member of the Seattle Grunge scene. Nirvana had huge success with their album “Nevermind”, the band became a hit among the people and was quickly taken in as Generation X’s main stream rock band,Cobain was labeled as its voice. It was obvious that Cobain wasn’t coping well with the quick rise to fame and media attention. They were huge in the underground “Rock Grunge scene” before becoming famous. The fame really took its toll on Cobain he became heavily addicted to drugs and involved in a toxic relationship with actress Courtney Love. After a long hard road of addiction and depression, Cobain took his own life via: shotgun to the head. There is also controversy surrounding his death, there are theories his suicide was staged but his long history of depression and drug use suggest otherwise. It was so sad to see him go at such a young age with so much left to be accomplished, it just shows that fame and fortune is not everything. Sometimes these people get so famous so fast they don’t know how to handle it and that was the case for Kurt. He was always very artistic growing up and had a taste for music at a young age, he was always different from other kids his age and didn’t really have a place among others until the 1990’s when the Seattle grunge scene came about.
